Oscar winner Riz Ahmed took it to his Instagram stories and has congratulated Arooj Aftab, a Brooklyn-based Pakistani vocalist for winning her first Grammy award.
Ahmed shared a photo of Arooj from the Grammys and inscripted, Yeaaassss!!! Congrats on your first Grammy!!! followed by a heart emoji.
However, it is to be noted that Aftab won the prestigious trophy for her song “Mohabbat” in the Best Global Performance category at Grammy on Sunday.
The 37-year-old has been steadily gaining global attention for her work that wholly has a touch of ancient Sufi traditions paired with the inflections of folk, jazz and minimalism.
