ments on Monday briefed the National Assembly&
#8217;s Standing Committee on their roles, responsibilities and achieve
ments in ensuring national security, counter-terrorism and border security.

The secretary of the M
inistry of Interior Khuram Ali Agha informed the committee about the m
inistry&
#8217;s mission, vision, organizational structure and its role in maintaining internal security, securing foreigners, and implementing immigration and asylum policies.
Representatives from the civil armed forces nationwide also briefed the committee on their areas of responsibility, resources, capabilities, deploy
ments and achieve
ments in counter-terrorism, anti-smuggling drives and border security
. The committee commended the sacrifices made by the civil armed forces in ensuring border security, conducting counter-terrorism operations, preventing smuggling and protecting critical installations.
Heads and representatives of attached departments, including the Capital Development Authority (CDA), Islamabad Police, Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), Passport and Visa, National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA), National Electronic Crime Taskforce (NECTA), Financial Action Task Force (FATF), Civil Defence, National Police Bureau (NPB), and National Academy of Prisons Adm
inistration, also briefed the committee on their organizational structure, functions, and achievements.
The committee assured the m
inistry of its full cooperation in enhancing its working, prioritizing the country&
#8217;s best interests above party lines. In return, the committee expected similar cooperation and professional input from the m
inistry and its departments.
The briefing was attended by honorable members of the National Assembly, senior officers from the M
inistry of Interior, and representatives from the civil armed forces and attached departments.
